Seeking a US Payroll Functional Consultant to design, configure, and support end-to-end payroll processes for US operations. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in US payroll compliance, multi-state taxation, garnishments, benefits/deductions, year-end processing, and hands-on experience with one or more payroll platforms (SAP HCM/ECP/SuccessFactors or Workday). The role partners closely with HR, Finance, Time/Absence, and IT to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll execution with strong controls and audit readiness
Your Responsibilities
Process Leadership
- Lead discovery, fit–gap, and solution design for US payroll processes (hire-to-retire, off-cycle, reversals/voids, retro, bonus/stock processing).
- Own payroll configuration (earnings, deductions, garnishments, tax, benefits, GL posting, pay calendars, pay groups, rules).
- Oversee multi-state and local taxation, reciprocity, SUI/SUTA setup, and mobility/remote worker scenarios.
- Drive year-end activities (W-2/W-2c, 1095-C in coordination with benefits/ACA, year-end limits, rates, and reconciliations).
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to FLSA, FICA, FUTA, SUI/SUTA, state/local tax regulations, wage-and-hour, PTO payout rules, garnishment priorities, and union/CBAs where applicable.
- Implement/maintain SOX controls, segregation of duties, and audit documentation.
- Maintain statutory updates (tax changes, rate tables, BSI/Vertex/Alteryx tax engines if applicable).
Integrations & Data
- Define and validate interfaces with HRIS, Time & Attendance, Finance/GL, and third parties (benefits, tax filing, garnishment vendors).
- Manage inbound/outbound integrations and reconciliation (e.g., SF EC ? SAP ECP via PECI/BIB, IDocs, Workday/Oracle connectors, ADP file formats).
- Ensure data quality, balancing, and payroll-to-GL reconciliation.
Operations & Support
- Provide L2/L3 support, triage defects, root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Execute UAT, parallel runs, cutover planning, and hypercare for new rollouts or enhancements.
- Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, configuration workbooks, and training materials.
Requirement and Skills
- Handson experience as a US Payroll Functional Consultant (10–15 years) with deep multi-state payroll, garnishments, and year-end expertise.
- Experience with SAP HCM ECP/SF EC (PECI/BIB) preferred.
- Should have hands on experience in US Payroll.
- Good in Communication.
