The Manager is seeking a candidate for a consulting-focused role who will leverage their extensive Workday experience to drive business value. This role requires a proactive approach to engaging with available resources within the Workday system, building a strong network, and delivering true consulting services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to listen to project requirements, assess the actions needed, and communicate how these actions impact the business as a whole. The Manager is looking for a confident individual who isn’t afraid to speak up, take initiative, lead projects, and challenge existing processes to improve outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative support in configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the Workday HCM system.
- Collaborate with key HR stakeholders to manage the product backlog, prioritize tasks, and design solutions that align with business needs.
- Serve as the product owner for the Core HR product team, overseeing HCM, HR analytics, and security.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
- Configure Workday HCM to meet business needs, including business processes, tenant settings, and custom reports.
- Provide hands-on technical support for escalated Workday issues, working with the managed services support team to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
- Stay up-to-date with Workday releases and new features, recommending opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with other product owners and product teams to understand planned activities and assess their impact on the team’s capacity.
- Partner on the technology roadmap aligned with business strategy.
- Create comprehensive product documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, change logs, configuration documentation, and product roadmaps.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 5 years of proven experience managing Workday HCM, including direct configuration of complex requirements.
- Strong proficiency in Workday configuration, including business process setup, security, calculated fields, and custom reports.
- Demonstrated ability in application delivery, relationship management, business acumen, intuition, strong communication, and collaboration.
- Experience working within a complex, global organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business processes into technical solutions.
- Capable decision-making skills, able to make informed decisions quickly and balance competing priorities and risks.
- Proven ability to create, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring the development team focuses on high-value items.
- Ability to mentor and guide others, providing feedback to drive desired outcomes.
- Experience proactively engaging technology resources (e.g., Workday Community, user groups) to build a strong network and foster growth.
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to assess product performance, user behavior, and areas for improvement.
- Problem-solving aptitude to identify obstacles and provide practical solutions to keep product development on track.
- Ability to work effectively in a virtual team across remote locations, cultures, time zones, and matrixed reporting lines, including collaboration with external partners and customers.
- Experience with other Workday features (e.g., Security) or the willingness to work cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools is a plus
